For any occasion, from a first time visit to a romantic getaway to a business
trip, the Catherine Ward House is the best way to experience Savannah in style.
We
currently do not have a liquor license and therefore cannot serve liquor at the
Inn. Guests may bring their alcoholic beverage of choice. We happily supply
glasses and an endless supply of ice.
Each
morning, you are served a full breakfast in our dining room. We try to be ready
for the early birds who get up at the crack of dawn and we keep the frying pan
warm for the sleepy heads that just can't pull themselves out of bed. We
understand that not everyone is on the same schedule. Since most of our guests
are on vacation, we try to be flexible. Also, let us know when you are making
your reservation if your have any dietary restrictions or preferences and we
will try to accommodate them.
We
understand emergencies so we let you cancel your reservation up to three days
before you arrive with no penalty. After that, we will have to charge you for
one night if we cannot rent your room. If it is a holiday weekend or a big
event (St. Patrick’s Day or New Year’s Eve), we may lengthen the time to ten
days that you have to cancel you reservation with no penalty. In any case, we
will let you know when you make your reservation if we have any cancellation
policy in place.
You are encouraged to arrive as early as 11:00AM. Even if you arrive in Savannah before 11:00AM, please feel free to come directly to the Inn. If your room is not available, you can still park your car, leave your luggage, review area maps and tour information and get an early start on your Savannah touring.
Our normal check-out time is 11:00AM. However, on your checkout day, you can
check-out of your room and we will take care of your luggage until you are
ready to leave town.
Because
of the surroundings, we ask that all guests be at least 14 years of age.
We
do not ask for deposits except for special occasions. We take deposits for
holiday weekends or for big events, like St. Patrick’s Day or New Year’s Eve.
When we do ask for a deposit, it will be for the amount of one night’s stay. We
also take a one-night deposit per room when one group books four or more rooms
for the same time.
In “Jessica’s Room” and the “Hibernian Room”, we welcome dogs as long as they bring their human along with them. The human has free run of the Inn but dogs must stay in their guestroom. Our other guests must not be disturbed by barking or anxious behavior. We are trusting you will not bring a dog that can't be happy and behave. There is a one-time $35 Pet Fee. Any additional cost of damage to the inn or inconvenience to another guest caused by the dog (or human) will be charged to the human.
We
send and receive faxes for guests free of charge.
We
sell Gift Certificates for any dollar amount. If you would like to treat
someone to a night or a weekend at the Inn, you may do so by purchasing a Gift
Certificate at the Inn or by telephone.
For
our business travelers or those who just cannot leave their laptops behind, we
offer, at no charge, high-speed wireless internet access throughout the Inn.
(Warning! We are innkeepers not computer experts. We barely know what we are
doing ourselves when we get on the computer. Therefore, we do not and cannot
guarantee the wireless internet service we provide will be compatible with
every computer. If your computer is not compatible with our system, we can
offer recommendations of other wireless hot spot locations in Savannah.)
The
Inn, all common areas, and guestrooms are non-smoking areas. Smoking is allowed
on the porches, balconies, and in the courtyard.
If
you are not coming, do let us know. We hate sitting up worrying about you.
Unfortunately, we will have to charge you for your entire stay if you do not
show up without contacting us in advance.
We
are located on a quiet, residential street where there is usually plenty of
on-street parking. On the rare occasion it gets crowded, we are allowed to use
a small parking lot across the street from the Inn.
To
enhance your Savannah experience, we have partnered with many Savannah
businesses to offer you special care when you visit. We are always ready to
schedule appointments, make reservations and plan itineraries for you before
you arrive or after you have checked into the Inn.
We plan our time away from the Inn around the anticipated arrival time of our guests. Although you are welcomed to come any time day or night, should you arrive much earlier or later than expected you may find an empty house! All we need is a phone call to let us know your arrival time will be different than originally planned and we will ensure someone will be here to greet you!
